Changes Module Overview
This unit invites children to explore how materials change when they are mixed, heated, or cooled. In exploring chemical changes, students observe fizzing liquids and rust. Students begin to understand that changes can happen slowly or quickly and that they can occur naturally or as the result of human intervention. These investigations enable second-graders to appreciate that changes are occurring all around them and to develop an interest in further exploring these phenomena.
