Research the meat and poultry production in our state and nation; create a graph showing producers, consumers, and economic impact

Find water content of several plants and animals (be sure to include humans); graph findings

Research water; determine why it is important to our health, and how much we should drink each day

Create a Venn diagram to show how glucose test papers and protein test papers are alike and different

Research one of the following topics about milk:

  • What are the many things that happen to milk between the time the cow is milked and the time the carton arrives on the grocery shelf?
  • What products come from milk?
  • What jobs are involved in milk production?

 

"Lite Side Up" cookbook:

  • create a booklet of meat recipes
  • regular recipes will be upside down
  • challenge students to find ways to reduce the fat or substitute a low-fat recipe
  • lite recipe opposite with the right side

Research use of developers in other areas; interview a photographer
