The Citizens of Decatur Help
Put Technology Into Schools
The "Power to the Classrooms" campaign allows the citizens
of Decatur to contribute to a program that will help fund classroom
technology. This innovative program allows residents of Decatur
to donate money to the Decatur City Schools technology program through
their utility bill. In partnership with Decatur Utilities, residents
can donate as little as $1.00 per month to the "Power to the
Classroom" project. These funds will go directly to improving
technology in the classroom. Examples of planned improvements include
the purchase of classroom computer systems, RAM upgrades, CD-ROM
drives, additional software and expanding Internet access to the
classroom. With these funds, schools can continue the process of
improving the quality and quantity of technology within the district.
