It is a proven fact that a hungry child cannot learn!
Our Child Nutrition Program helps prepare your child for learning
by providing nutritional meals. We encourage you to support our
goal of providing “brain food” to every Decatur City
Schools student by allowing us to provide your child with a nutritional
breakfast and lunch. We invite you to eat with your child as often
as possible!
Breakfast is served:
• Served daily at all 17 schools.
• Breakfast consists of choice of entree, milk and
juice.
• A variety of milk (strawberry, chocolate and 2% homogenized)
is available.
• A variety of juice is available.
• Cereal and toast offered as one of the breakfast entrees
daily.
• Another entree such as sausage biscuit, French toast
sticks, etc. also available daily.
Lunch
• Served daily at all 17 schools.
• Lunch consists of choice of entrees, vegetables and/or fruit
and milk/drink.
• A variety of milk (strawberry, chocolate and 2% homogenized)
is available.
• Two entrees such as chicken nuggets and burritos are offered
daily.
• Three vegetables and/or fruit selections daily.
• Free dessert with lunch at least once a week.
Lunch consists of one entree, a choice of vegetables, fruit
and beverage. All of our cafeterias offer at least two different
entrees, several vegetables and fruit on a daily basis. At least
once a week a free dessert is included with the purchase of lunch.
Some locations offer a third choice on a daily basis. The same variety
of milk is available at lunch.
