Dr. Charles Elliott has served on the Board since 1996, and has been its President since 2000. He presently serves on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Association of School Boards (AASB). AASB has awarded him the distinction of being a Master School Board Member.

Dr. Elliott is a graduate of the University of Alabama and the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology. He has been practicing medicine in Decatur since 1985. He is a past president of the Morgan County Medical Society.

Dr. Elliott and his wife Sherry have two children, both graduates of Austin High School. Lindsay is presently a student at the University of Alabama. Their son Charles attends Harding University.

Charles and Sherry are active at the Beltline Church of Christ. He is a Bible school teacher and has been active in medical missions to Guyana, Haiti, and the Yucatan.
