Dauphin Island Sea Lab

Since the mid-1980s, Decatur City Schools students have been participating in the Dauphin Island Sea Lab’s nationally recognized Discovery Hall Programs about marine environments. During the three-day field trip, students are immersed in activities such as trawling in Mobile Bay and seining in salt marshes in order to gain understanding about coastal and ocean issues.
