COMPUTERS/BEGINNING
Learning how to use a personal computer can be a real challenge for anyone in any age group. Join us in a relaxed atmosphere as we learn the very basics of computer applications. You’ll learn how a computer works, basic computer terminology, what to look for when buying a PC, and of course, lots of hands-on experience as you are introduced to word processing, spreadsheets and the internet. No class October 8 and November 12.
Beginning: September 10 - Mondays – 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

COMPUTERS/MICROSOFT OFFICE EXCEL 2002
This course will help you to start using this powerful electronic spreadsheet program. With an overview of Excel, you will learn to: create and modify spreadsheets, create formulas, use auto sum, add formatting, as well as create charts and print your worksheet. Computer experience required. No class October 8.

COMPUTERS/MICROSOFT OFFICE POWERPOINT 2002
Learn to use innovative tools and an easy hands-on approach to produce professional looking presentations that will get your point across. Students will also learn to produce everything from quick overheads to dazzling on screen presentations. In addition, you'll learn how Microsoft Word and Excel documents can be integrated into PowerPoint presentations. Computer experience required. No class October 9.

COMPUTERS/MICROSOFT OFFICE WORD 2002
Microsoft Word is a powerful, yet easy to use word processing software that can do many remarkable things! After this session, you’ll know how to create a simple Word document, print it, save it and file it electronically. We’ll also cover borders, shading, cutting, copying, pasting and many other desktop publishing techniques. Come and learn how easy it can be to make personalized business cards, invitations, labels and other impressive document creations. Computer experience required.

COMPUTERS/NETWORKING FUNDAMENTALS (NEW!)
This class will give you the basic knowledge to setup and maintain small home networks. You will learn how to share printers and hard drives between computers, and what basic tcp/ip functions are and how to use them. Learn basics on the following services/techniques: DNS, DHCP, HTTP, Command line utilities such as Ping, Arp and Tracert; firewalls and how they work, setup basic windows file sharing, setup basic windows printer sharing and home internet connection. Computer experience/knowledge is essential!

COMPUTERS/NETWORKING INTERMEDIATE (NEW!)
This class will pick up where Networking Fundamentals left off. You will learn more advanced windows file and printer sharing, such as NTFS permissions and how to use them. Learn about firewall port maps and hosting services behind a firewall. Intermediate command line utilities to automate tasks and troubleshoot network problems. Learn in greater detail the services/technologies from the Fundamentals class. Computer experience/knowledge is essential!

LEARNING MICROSOFT VISTA
Introducing Windows Vista, the next generation of Microsoft Windows. Vista follows Windows XP, the last major version of Windows and has many new features that aren’t included in XP. Features and benefits include sophisticated graphics, better search and organization tools, improved security, easier access to information and applications, new multimedia functions and improved system tools for backups, updates and more. Computer experience/knowledge is essential!
Dates: September 5 & 6 – Tuesday & Wednesday – 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

This is a great course for those who want to keep their computer running smoothly. The course will teach installing updates from Microsoft, defragmenting, speeding up and checking for hard drive errors. It will teach saving files, installing and moving files, backing up data and more.
