Breakfast and Lunch Served Daily
Hello Students!
Welcome to Benjamin Davis! Come on in the cafeteria where the atomosphere is nice. Ms. Shirley will be cooking up some good tasting nutritious meals. Ms. Shirley will be helping to serve and make sure everyone gets their lunches on time. Ms. Rosie will take your lunch money while the custodians help keep the cafeteria neat and clean for you.
Our lunches are very good! You have a choice of two entree's every day plus good vegetables and fruit. You probably can guess what some of the different foods are for the day from the aroma coming from the cafeteria. Ms. Shirley especially likes to make the homemade pizza's which are really good and the student's favorite.
So come on in and join us for breakfast and lunch. We'll save you a place at the table!
Point of Sale
At Benjamin Davis, we use the Point of Sale system of lunch money payment. Children are allowed to pre-pay on their account and then use it as a source of payment. Each time they punch in their account number, $1.50 is deducted from their account. When a child runs out of money on his/her account a notice is sent home. If a child loses or forgets his lunch money he/she is allowed to "charge" his lunch two times before he has to call his parents. This is a great way to handle lunch money because it eliminates children having to carry money all day.

Each week, the Silver Spoon is awarded to the class that follows all of our lunchroom rules. They must enter the lunch room quietly in an orderly manner. We observe silence for the first ten minutes of lunch so that everyone will eat! After the ten minutes are up, students may talk quietly at their table. In order to win the Silver Spoon Award a class must follow these rules and make sure the area in which they sit for lunch is clean when they leave.
We have three lunch periods and a Silver Spoon is awarded at each lunch period on Fridays.
Ms. Rosie will award the Silver Spoon Award
