A little about me:
I was born in Decatur, AL and went to school here. I am married, have a 7th grade daughter and am expecting daughter #2 on Valentine's Day 2008. We have a weinie dog named Max! I love to read, go to the beach and spend time with my family.

Emily Jones White
Hello! My name is Emily White and I am the Media Specialist here at Chestnut Grove! This is my 2nd year as a media specialist and I LOVE IT! Before coming to Chestnut Grove, I taught 1st and 2nd grades at both Benjamin Davis and West Decatur. I love reading and there is nothing more meaningful than seeing that love of reading in the eyes of a child! We have at least 4 reading incentives each school year. Last year we had a Reading Round-Up, The Polar Express Reading Extravaganza, Popcorn Reading and a Reading Luau! Our Read, Read, and Read S'MORE! reading incentive was a huge success! Our fabulous fifth graders helped me wrangle 420+ children through the library! The Grinch's birthday came and went and I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
The Huntsville Havoc is coming to Chestnut Grove!!
Please make sure to encourage your child to do their homework and behave at school so they will be sure to earn the trip to see the Huntsville Havoc hockey players on February 20th~! This will be our 3rd reading incentive for the year. Word is there may be a drawing for free tickets and t-shirts! Stay tuned in to what is going on at CGE!!!!
