Hello,

My name is Tiffany Abernathy. I am a second grade teacher at Eastwood. I previously completed a marvelous first year of teaching. I earned a Bachelor’s degree from Athens State University. This is my second year and I am excited about teaching at this school. In my classroom there is a lot of reading, focusing on comprehension and fluency. There is also a lot of writing based on different genres such as: narrative, descriptive, and persuasive writing. The math that we use comes from MMI strategies, which are great hands-on methods for learning math.

I believe that all children can learn and I am happy that I can be a part of it. I can tell that this is going to be a great year at Eastwood!
