Welcome to my third grade class!  Here in third grade our focus in reading is to become a fluent reader.  Being a fluent reader means that each child is accurate in reading, automatic with the text, uses phrasing and comprehension strategies, and last but not least shows expression.  Our Math focus is teaching for understanding.  This means that everyone learns in different ways and there is more than one way to get the right answer.  The big push in Social Studies this year will be map skills and current events.  Science is jam packed with units in Earth Materials, Plants, Chemical Testing, and the Human Body.  I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you!
