Study of Broadway Musicals

As a Cooperative Fine Arts Unit

Over the course of the year, each grade level will have an in-depth study of Broadway musicals.  The in-depth study will include, but not be limited to viewing, discussing, illustrating, composing, singing, & acting three to four musicals a year. 

The Fine Arts classes will combine when viewing the musicals.  Most age appropriate musicals in movie form are 21/2 to 3 hours long.  For the students to grasp the plot, character development, and overall continuity of the storyline the musical will be shown during the Fine Arts block of time.  Other rationales for this procedure include:

1) it covers Course of Study objectives (click links below) for each Arts discipline, and

2) it would take 4 weeks to view the musical in one of the arts classes.
