VALENTINES FOR VETERANS
And other work for Veterans

I feel a responsibility to teach my students about service learning and giving back to the community. The biggest service project we do yearly is create Valentines for Veterans. The Creative Crew create banners and signs that are placed in the boxes that are mailed out to the local, state, and Veterans abroad. The students take a lot of pride in creating these banners.

For the 2006 school year we added making some permanent signs for Veterans Day. Our lovely guidance counsellor, et al, Mrs. Mary Gregory graciously laminated our large posters, and her wonderful husband helped build frames and place our Veteran signs on Highway 31 to let passing Veterans know that they are appreciated and admired by our students .
