Beliefs of the Staff

9/19/99

  • Every individual can learn.
  • Every individual deserves a safe environment that promotes learning.
  • Every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
  • Every life is shaped by both those who love him and those who refuse to love him.

High Expectations

At Julian Harris we believe in setting high expectations for our students. We encourage them to reach their full potential and become lifelong learners. We use numerous techniques to help our children to learn to love learning. Some of these are:

  • Perfect Attendance Awards
  • Honor Roll Awards
  • Monthly Award Ceremonies
  • Presidential Academic Awards
  • D.A.R.E. Program
  • Peer Helpers

  • Student of the Year Awards

Our Expectation of Students

We believe that, in order for children to reach their full potential, there must be cooperation between the school, parent and child. In order for this to happen we set expectation for our students. They are:

  • Work to the best of their ability.
  • Treat others with dignity, worth, and respect.
  • Keep the environment beautiful and clean.
  • Obey all rules.
  • Work to keep a positive relationship with others.
  • Be proud of their accomplishments.
  • Be punctual.
  • Come to school prepared.
  • Encourage parents to visit.
  • Represent our school in an outstanding manner at all times.

Home - School Partnership

In order to promote the home - school relationship we have:

  • PTA Organization
  • Active volunteer programs
  • Parent-Teacher conferences
  • Monthly news letters
  • Friend-to-Friend Mentoring
  • Weekly/Monthly Grade-Level Messages
  • Family Fun Day
  • Parent Tutoring Programs
