Congratulations to Briley Tokarz.

Briley, 1st Grade student, won the city-wide reflections contest for Visual Arts and was also a state winner.

Mr. Thomas's class collected animal supplies for the Decatur Animal Shelter.  They did this as part of a community service project.   The animal shelter was greatly appreciative of what my class collected for them.

Telephone book collection is over!

We collected 2142 phone books.

Good going kids.

The fourth grade is studying electricity.  They created and wired their own homes.  These are some to their exceptional work.

The Fourth grade class went to Montgomery last week.  They had a wonderful time.  To see pictures of the trip look at the two slide shows on Mr. Thomas's web site.   Thanks to Mr. Thomas for all the pictures.

Parents:  If you have not signed up for Decatur City Schools emergency notification service please consider it.  In the near future it will provide the school system with a way to notify parents with emergency information.  We will be able to send text messages and emails in case of bad weather or other emergencies.  You can sign up on the quick links section of the DCS.EDU home page.  Consider it.
