Text Box: Kindergarten	We would like to thank all parents in helping us in the Aluminum Can Drive. We were able to collect over 76,000 cans school-wide. During the month of February, we will be engaging in many activities and lesson which will allow our students to stay actively engaged in learning.
We will complete Open Court Unit 5: Stick To It and begin Unit 6: Red, White, and Blue. For our AMSTI Unit: Trees, will study the anatomy of a tree and how they help people. We will also be preparing the students for the Metropolitan Readiness Test. More information will be given at a later date. Please continue to look for newsletters and class update in your students folder.
Text Box: First Grade	First Grade is busy, busy, busy. We were visited by PACT and learned that our private body areas (like under our swimsuits) should not be touched by others. We learned to yell “No!” take 3 steps back and run away if strangers tried to talk to us. We learned not to keep “bad” secrets and to tell adults we can trust whenever anything happens that makes us feel “yucky.”
Our AMSTI unit is Animals 2 X 2. We’ll have goldfish, guppies, pill bugs, sow bugs, water snails, earthworms, and night crawlers.
We will have Clifford Day February 15th. We’ll wear red and read lots of Clifford books. If your child has some, be sure to let him/her bring them in to read to the class.
Text Box: February 26 – March 2 we’ll be reading Dr. Seuss books and using lots of rhyming words and sequence activities.
Don’t forget to attend the Bookworm Festival on February 8. You’ll have lots of fun.
Second Grade Our second grader’s continued working hard in all their subjects especially reading and math. We celebrated the 100th day of school with lots of extra fun in math. This year is certainly flying by. Our next project will be to get ready for our second grade play. The children are excited and are already practicing the songs.
Third Grade	The third grade scientists are studying Chemical tests, they are really trying not to make a mess!!!
