Welcome to Leon Sheffield Elementary School, home of the Lions! We are happy to have you and your family as part of our school community.

Leon Sheffield Elementary has a wonderful staff dedicated to providing a quality education for every child. We have 13 self-contained classes, serving approximately 230 students in grades PK-5. A focus on promoting literacy is a priority in our school. This is evident in that reading and writing are taught in all subject areas throughout the school day. Also, teachers use a variety of instructional strategies to make sure every child is given the chance to succeed academically.

We believe "It takes a village to raise a child". Therefore, forming and maintaining strong relationships with our parents and community members are very important to us. We treasure the opportunity for you to become an active part of our school. Remember, we are "A Place to Learn with Those Who Care."
