Autism Awareness Project

This project was created to raise awareness for the Autism Society of Alabama. All of the Decatur City, private, and homeschool students, churches and daycare groups worked together to create a visual statement with a variety of butterflies to represent the approximate 8,000 children diagnosed in Alabama.  Originally, the butterflies were to be displayed only at Wilson-Morgan Baseball field for Decatur Storm baseball team's tournament the weekend of April 20th, 2007. Now, these butterflies will be displayed in Montgomery for Governor Riley and Autism Advocates in March to promote funding for Autism programs.
