This is my fifth year teaching kindergarten at West Decatur. Previously, I worked with the Even Start Program for Decatur City Schools. I am a native of Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

My educational background includes an A.S. degree in Office Administration from Northwest Shoals Community College and both a B.S. and Master's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Alabama A&M University.

The Kindergarten program has a new core reading program. It entails phonemic awareness, phonics, letters and initial sound fluency and many other literacy building components. We are also a part of the Maysville/Mobile Math Initiative Program.

My philosophy of teaching is to go beyond the call of duty to make sure learning takes place on a daily basis!
