My name is Jennifer Holkem and I teach music here at West Decatur. In our classes, we learn about and participate in singing, dancing, playing musical instruments and putting on musical plays. We also learn about the fundamentals of music by doing a short writing assignment each day and discussing it in our class. The 4th and 5th grades also are allowed to participate in Chorus, in which we learn more about singing and participate in several performances throughout the year.

I am a graduate of the University of North Alabama with a bachelor's degree in Music Education. This is my second year teaching at West Decatur Elementary.
