Hello, my name is Sherry Lightfoot. I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia. I am in my sixth year as the Literacy Lab Aide at West Decatur.

All students from kindergarten through fifth grade utilize the lab. The Literacy Lab is used to help reinforce objectives taught within the regular classrooms. There is an emphasis on reading as well as technology instruction. We focus strongly on phonics, the different parts of the computer, the computer's functions and other related systems. Students are involved in various projects throughout the year. Many of their projects will be displayed in the Literacy Lab as well as throughout the school.
