School Highlights and Achievements
Decatur
High School ranks as one of the top academic schools in the
state with a strong Advanced Placement program and ACT & SAT
test scores that exceed the State and National average.
The DHS athletic teams are well represented each year
in the State Playoffs, and have won state championships in Basketball, Football, and Golf.
The DHS Chorus and Concert Bands have consistently received
superior ratings in both District and State competitions.
The graduating class of 2005 was awarded more than 3.2
million dollars in scholarship offers.
Decatur High School had 99% of its seniors pass the Alabama
High School Graduation Exam.
The Drama department had a very successful spring production
of “Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."
The DHS Scholars Bowl, Robotics Team & Forensics team have
all had an excellent year as did our vocational programs with
both DECA & TSA having state competition winners.
