- New Spirit Shirts are available to order. Your first period teacher has
order forms. You can order either black or orange shirts, or one of each!
Shirts are $12.00 each. Money is due with the order form. Deadline to order
is TODAY! Turn money in to Mrs. Swann, Mrs. Page or Mrs. Lovett. Be sure to
write on the order form whether you want a black or orange shirt. Please be
sure to mark the proper size, some sizes are youth sizes, so mark the proper
size. If you order the wrong size it can’t be changed after the order is
here.
- All Key Club members from last year need to see Coach Lawrence in E-17
Thursday or Friday.
- All of Mrs. Tucker’s classes will meet in the E-building computer lab
today.
- Reminder for Ms. Gonzalez’s Life Skill’s classes to meet in the
library today.
- Are you a student leader? Are you part of a youth group? Do you want to
make a difference in your community? Decatur Youth Service is offering a
unique opportunity for girls in grades 10-12 to participate in this Points
of Light Leadership Institute. Please come by the guidance office to sign
up. The last day to sign up will be Friday, August 31st. The
leadership institute will meet on Tuesdays, starting Sept. 4th
– Dec. 31, from 3:30 – 5:00 pm. All participants MUST have
transportation to and from the institute.
- All current FCCLA members, next Tuesday is our first activity of the year.
It will be at PTSA Open house. Please if you are a paid member of FCCLA so
far this year we need to meet in J-02 at 5 pm next Tuesday.
- The varsity and JV volleyball teams fell to Muscle Shoals but beat Area
team Florence. Varsity’s record improves to 8-3. JV will play Saturday at
the Bob Jones tournament. Varsity will host the Austin Invitational tomorrow
in the Jones Gym. Play begins at 9:00 AM for the ten team tournament.
Tickets are $5.00 per person. Anyone interested in volunteering to work at
the volleyball tournament can receive service hours for your club. See Coach
Lawrence in E-17.
- Congratulations to the Austin Cross Country Team: JV Boys: JV division
Champions with top 10 finishes by Matt Dunn, Blake vial and Cole Humphries.
JV Girls: JV Division Third place with top ten finish by Kelly Parker.
Varsity Girls: Varsity Division Second Place, top ten finishes by John
Bolding, Peter Nevels and Jeff Holm. The teams will be competing in the
Chickasaw Trails invitational on Sept. 8, come out and support your cross
country team.
