The JV volleyball team tied for 3^rd at the Bob Jones JV Invitational tournament. They are now 11-5. The varsity team won the Austin Invitational tournament Saturday. We won all six matches to claim the tournament title. The following girls made the All-tournament team: Lindsey Rogers, Shara Foster and Ali Barnett. The Lady Bears record is now 14-3. Congratulations on a great tournament! Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to help with our tournament. You were greatly appreciated. We are currently ranked 10^th in the state. Both varsity and JV play Huntsville and Grissom at Grissom.

Congratulations to the Freshman Football team on their 12-6 win over Decatur yesterday. The freshman and B-team will play Huntsville at home on Monday.

Are you a student leader? Are you part of a youth group? Do you want to make a difference in your community? Decatur Youth Service is offering a unique opportunity for girls in grades 10-12 to participate in this Points of Light Leadership Institute. Please come by the guidance office to sign up. The last day to sign up will be Friday, August 31^st. The leadership institute will meet on Tuesdays, starting Sept. 4^th – Dec. 31, from 3:30 – 5:00 pm. All participants MUST have transportation to and from the institute.

All current FCCLA members, tonight is our first activity of the year. It will be at PTSA Open house. Please, if you are a paid member of FCCLA so far this year we need to meet in J-02 at 5 pm.

Scholar’s Bowl will practice tomorrow after school in Mr. Holloway’s room M-5. If y ou can not attend, please see Mr. Holloway.

Tonight is PTSA Open house. Please encourage your parents to attend. The meeting will begin at 6:30 pm. Your parents will follow your schedule and meet your teachers.
