- Having trouble finding a place for the perfect date? Need some advice?
Read about the area’s top five places to take a date in the Accent, which
will be on sale for 25 cents in the cafeteria today and tomorrow.
- Attention IB students: there will be no TOK class today. Please go to your
2nd and 3rd period classes.
- There will be a meeting for all Robotics Team members, tonight at 7:00 in
Mrs. Haddock’s room. You must attend this brief meeting for details on the
upcoming competition.
- Attention all students: remember spirit flip-flops are available for
$10.00. They can be purchased from Mrs. Edwards or Ms. Gregg.
- Officers for this year’s Mu Alpha Theta club: Pres – Hunter Merrill, V
– Pres. –Xalyn Peek, Sec. – Steven Wright, and Treas. – Rachael
Tuell. Mrs. Hopkins will need to meet with you on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7:30
inM-11. Be sure to put this on your calendar.
- A HUGE Thank you for everyone that came out to support the volleyball team
yesterday. It meant so much to the team to see the gym full. We appreciate
everyone cheering for us to beat Decatur. Varsity concludes it’s regular
season at 33-18. Congratulations to our seniors: Lindsey Rogers, Ali
Barnette, Abi Merrill, Brittney Smith, Tiera Robinson, Shara Foster, Shanise
Foster and Stephen Gustin. The JV team also ended their season with a win.
Congratulations Coach Kelly Hendon and the JV Lady Bears. Please excuse the
varsity team at 11:33 to play in the Morgan County Tournament.
- Officers for 2007-08 Jr. Civitan are: Pres. –Andrea Crayton, V.-Pres –
Cody McDonald, Sec. – Kameshia Ross, Treas. – Chris Humphries, Public
Relation Coordinator _ Taylor Renick, historian – Sydney Starkey,
Sergeant-at-arms – Krista Thompson, and Chaplain – Katie Leigh Mardis.
These officers need to meet Wednesday, Oct. 10th at 3:15 in Mrs.
McNair’s room (S6).
- Any students interested in trying out for the girls or boy’s tennis
teams need to See Coach Walker in S-14 to sign up.
- The PSAT/NMSQT will be given on Wednesday, Oct. 17th. Any
junior interested in taking the PSAT needs to register with Mrs. Carroll by
Oct. 11th.
- The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards: If you’ve made a difference
by volunteering in your community over the past year, you could win $1000.
and a fabulous trip to Washington, D.C.. For additional information and an
application, please see Mrs. Carroll in the guidance office before October
24th.
- JV Boys basketball tryouts will be Oct. 11 and 12 at 3:30 in the aux. gym.
Students must sign up with Coach Garth or Coach Henson by Oct. 10th.
- New officers for Spanish Honor Society for 2007-08 are: Pres. – Larkin
Briley, V-Pres. Caetlin Wells, Sec. – Kim Taylor, Project Chairman –
Alex Worthy.
