ANNOUNCEMENTS
November 7, 2007
- Girls A-club will meet today in Portable -2. Those wishing to be in the
yearbook picture must pay dues by tomorrow.
- Interact Club needs your help! We need everyone to bring school supplies
for elementary school children pre/k – 5th. Members, you need
to bring yours to the meeting today, Pencils, Markers, Fat Crayons, Safety
Scissors, Craft Paper, ECT. Please bring by Friday, Nov. 7th to
either Mrs. Elmore S7 or Mrs. Duffy S4.
- This is Drug Awareness and Prevention week. Each day we will have a
different theme and we hope you will participate and show your support of a
drug free school and drug free lifestyle. Thursday is “Shade out Drugs”
day, so wear your favorite sunglasses to school. (Be sure to take them off
during class). Friday is”Hands off Drugs” day, so wear something orange
and black to show your school pride.
- JSA Club will meet today in Portable 2. In order to vote and have picture
in yearbook, you must have paid dues.
- All Ambassadors are reminded that club pictures will be made today during
A-Club time. Make sure you wear your shirt. If you don’t have your shirt
you will NOT be in the picture.
- FCCLA will have pictures made during club time. You must wear your FCCLA
t-shirt we gave you when you joined or your official red FCCLA polo if you
have one to be in the picture. You will need to remember to bring your
Handbook we gave you at the first A-club to the meeting following pictures.
Also the Hospice Committee will meet after school tomorrow from 3-5.
- Mrs. Burgreen’s classes will meet in the AV room of the library today.
- Juniors who have not picked up their prizes from the magazine sales should
come by Mrs. Dixon’s room today between classes to pick them up. DO NOT
INTERRUPT HER CLASS! Prizes will be returned to QSP Friday.
- Yearbook club pictures will be made in Jones Gym during club times on
Wednesday, Nov. 7th. Club sponsors check your mailbox for the
list indicating the time your club’s picture will be made. Also, remember
to bring a club member roster for the yearbook staff. Freshman, sophomore
junior and senior class officers will have their pictures made during A-club
time, 9:08 – 9:39.
- Homework passes will be given out Friday during lunch for report cards.
Please make sure to get yours if you qualify for one.
- Seniors, if you are waiting on missing items from the Senior Supply
meeting, they have been delivered to the main office. You must sign for your
items when you pick them up. If you have any questions, please see Mrs.
Thompson in the drama room, A-04.
- Mrs. Turner’s 3rd period class needs to come by after school
today to get your t-shirt.
- Austin Girl’s soccer tryouts will be held November 26th
through November 30th from 3:30 – 5:00 at the Betty Street
Fields. All girls interested in trying out MUST see Coach Kusta in E-10
before Friday, November 16th, for forms and further details.
- Congratulations to the following students who received a superior rating
at the District 3 Walter C. Trumbauer drama competition at Florence High
School. They will travel to Troy University at the end of the month to
compete at the state level. Katie Gilhooly – solo musical theatre, Elisa
Robinson – solo musical theatre and female dramatic monologue, Roy Chase
– male dramatic monologue and Whitney Merrill – costume design and set
design.
- After submitting audition cd’s along with high school students from all
over the southeast, Kirk Averitt and Drew Tuggle were selected to be part of
the 200 voice America Choral Director’s Association Honor Choir. This
group will rehearse during the annual ACDA Southern Convention conference in
Louisville, AKY in March 2008 and perform for the convention of High School
and College Choral Director’s from across the nation. Congratulations to
Kirk and Drew.
