- Golf tryouts for boys and girls will be on November 26th at
Strike Zone Driving range and Nov. 27th at Point Mallard Golf
Course. Tryouts will start at 4:00. If you have any questions
please see Coach Shannon in S-1.
- Basketball season passes are now on sale. Adult passes are $40.00 and
students $30.00. Mrs. Debby Crowell will be selling the passes from 12:00
– 1:00 during lunch on Friday and Monday. Our 1st home game is
Monday against Muscle Shoals. All tickets will be $5.00 at the gate.
- Attention Robotics Team members: There will be a meeting for all drivers
and spotters
- The Austin Accent will be on sale today during lunch for 25 cents. Buy an
Accent and catch up on the latest news!
- National Honor Society members: Painting the Habitat house interior will
be this Saturday from 8:00 til finished! Please sign up outside M-13 by 3:00
Thursday. Directions to worksite are also available. Also, another service
hour opportunity! The Frosty Freeze 5K race is Dec. 1st.
Volunteers are needed from 7:00AM – 10:00 AM. Please sign up outside M-13.
- Attention seniors: If you believe that you need to be in a different class
in order to meet graduation requirements, please see Coach White in the
guidance office today.
- Reminder to FCCLA members who completed Hospice TB testing and training on
Wed. you MUST stop by Ms. Gonzalez’s room after school today to check in
with the nurse or your test will be invalid. Also, a message to all FCCLA
members – the STEP 1 quizzes you received lat last A-club were due last
Wednesday. We have extended the due date; they are now due to Ms. Gonzalez
by next Tuesday before the break. Be sure to complete and turn in to get
recognition.
- Seniors…the last day to turn in orders for make-up picture proofs is
today. You may turn the proof packet with payment to the main office, or
return it to Waldrup Studios in Huntsville. If you just want to select the
picture for the yearbook from your proofs, mark your selection on the proof
envelope in the section by the name and order instructions and return it to
the office by Friday.
- Don’t forget the AHS Drama Departments production of “The Trial of the
Big Bad Wolf” this coming Sunday, Nov 18th at 2 PM and Monday,
Nov 19th at 7 PM. General admission is $4.00 an tickets will be
available at the door. The hour long show features a host of nursery rhyme
characters as well as the 3 pigs and the wolf. You don’t want to miss this
trail of the century!!!
- Softball evaluation and tryouts for the Austin Varsity and JV teams will
be held starting Nov. 26 at the Austin softball field. New players coming
out should report at 3:30 and will finish about 5:00each day for FIVE DAYS.
Basketball players wanting to come out, will tryout after your basketball
season ends. The teams will be selected after five days of tryouts.
- Students who need a schedule change for Second Semester MUST see their
Guidance Counselor immediately. The counselor will give you a Schedule
Change Request form that must be completed with appropriate signatures and
an explanation for the request.
Valid reasons for a schedule change: Already passed Second Semester of
course you are currently taking. Need to pass Second Semester of a course you
are not currently taking. Add a course required for graduation (seniors). Reasons
schedule change requests will be denied: You want a different teacher or
class time. The course is too difficult. The move will result in an over-crowed
class. Schedule changes for Second Semester must be completed now! Schedule
changes may not be available after Second Semester begins and will not be made
during the first week of the Second Semester.
