- Juniors: applications are available in the guidance office for any junior
interested in the Joe Wheeler Youth Leadership Tour Program. Applicants that
are selected will go on a 3-day all expenses paid trip to Montgomery and
have a chance to be selected for the Washington D.C. Youth Tour. The program
is designed to help students gain leadership skills, build public speaking
skills, learn more about our government, and enhance student’s knowledge
of the energy industry and cooperative forms of business. Please see Mrs.
Carroll in guidance for an application.
- Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is…….To find out what your
classmates want this year, buy an Accent this Thursday and Friday in the
cafeteria for 25 cents.
- There are still over 80 students on the library fines and lost books list. All
fines must be paid and all books returned or paid for before you are allowed
to take exams.
Your teacher has an updated list and there is an updated
list posted on the library door.
If your name is on the list, report to the library today.
You have just 2 days to clear your fines.
- All HOSA members planning to go on the Memphis trip need to go by Mrs.
Tucker’s classroom to find out if you owe money. You also need to get a
permission slip. All money is due by Friday.
- Spanish club and Spanish Honor Society are reminded the Christmas gifts
for our project are due by Monday, Dec. 17
- National Honor Society members and other volunteers: Dedication for the
Habitat Your United house in Hartselle will be Friday, Dec.21st
at 11:00 am. Please plan to attend and be a part of this celebration.
- You may pick up driving directions to Walker High School in the main
office.
- Teachers please give eligible students their Austin High School Exam
Exemptions forms during first period. A lost Exam Exemption form will
not be replaced. Students accept responsibility for the form once
received. A student cannot exempt any semester exam if this form is not
completed and returned to the student’s first-period teacher before the
first-semester exam on Monday, December 17. Students must be at the
assigned semester-exam period unless they have received an exam exemption. A
student not attending a semester-exam period will be considered truant.
