Copyright Laws

Mark Davis Photography (markdavisphoto.com) has granted a license to Austin High School to display his photographs on the Austin High School web site for faculty and student viewing.  All photographs are licensed only for web site viewing.

Mark Davis’ Photographs are copyrighted and shall not be copied, reproduced or used for any other purpose, unless Mark Davis has granted an additional written license.

The basic principles of the U.S. and international copyright laws are pretty simple -- if it is an "original work of authorship," you may not use it without the permission of its creator. This law applies to all photography on the web site as well as to the web site itself.

Copyright laws state that any original work is protected from the moment of its creation.  Copyright infringements can result in severe penalties from $30,000 to $150,000 or more, as well as significant legal expenses.

Mark Davis actively pursues those who infringe, use or reproduces his photography without written permission.
