The Gates Millennium Scholars Scholarship:
To be eligible for a GMS scholarship you must: be African American,
American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic
American. For more of the
eligibility requirements see Mr. White in the guidance office.
This is an outstanding scholarship!
The deadline for submission of nomination materials is as follows: all
paper applications must be postmarked by December 31, 2007.

American Red Cross – Design Contest
– Fame and Fortune $2,000.00
Scholarship: The American Red
Cross is looking for a design that is both fun and appealing and will
encourage students to donate blood. If
your design is selected, you will win a $2,000.00 college scholarship!
All submissions must be received by October 26, 2007.

Samford University:
You need to be aware of the changes in the Samford application time
line. August 1 – Online
applications became available; over 200 students began applying; October 1 –
First mailing of admission decisions for all applications completed by the end
of September. December 1 –
Postmark application deadline for merit-based scholarship consideration!
NACAC College Fair 2007:
The fair will be held at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex
– North Exposition Hall on Sunday, September 16, 2007.
The Fair Hours will be 1:00 pm till 4:00 pm.
This is a great fair they will be speaking on how to better afford
college. Parents and students are
encouraged to attend.
2007 – 2008 SunTrust Off To College
Scholarship Sweepstakes:
$1,000.00 scholarship for high school seniors, plus a $100.00 SunTrust
Visa Gift Card will be given. This
is free to enter and eligibility not based on GPA or financial need.
You have fifteen chances to win – one winner every two weeks, from
October 31 – May 15, 2008. You

2008 United States Senate Youth Program:
The William Randolph Hearst Foundation is sponsoring the 46th
Annual United States Senate Youth Program.
The appropriate data must be submitted no later than September 20.
