DECATUR DAILY BOYS ALL-AREA TENNIS TEAM
2006
Kyle Justice, Fr.: Played No. 6 singles and advanced to the finals of the Class 6A, Section 6 tournament. He was the only area boys’ player to make the section finals in 6A.
Kyle Smith, So.: Played No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles this year. Went 11-3 in singles for the regular season, most wins for any boy since 2000. Lost only to players from Bob Jones and Florence within the seven-team Class 6A, Section 6.
Alex Worley, Fr.: Played No. 1 singles for the second straight year and went 9-5 in the regular season. Had a win over Player of the year, Hartselle's Keeton Light. Also played No.1 doubles. Made all-area first team in 2005.

Kentaro Hori, Sr.
2005
William Dulaney, Sr.: Dulaney posted the team’s best singles record with a 10-4 mark at the No. 5 spot in the lineup. He also scored an 8-6 mark at No. 2 doubles with teammate Alex Worley. At the Class 6A, Section 7 tournament, he reached the quarterfinals in both singles and doubles.
Ricky Harvell, So.: Harvell helped make up one of the area’s most effective doubles teams. He and Kentaro Hori reached the finals at No. 3 doubles in the Class 6A, Section 7 tournament. They did not play together the entire season, but having Hori as his teammate helped him scored an 11-3 doubles record this season.
Kentaro Hori, Jr.: Hori teamed with Ricky Harvell to form a solid doubled tandem. Hori and Harvell reached the finals at No. 3 doubles in the Class 6A, Section 7 tournament. They did not play together the entire season, but with Harvell’s help, he posted a 10-4 doubles mark this season.
Alex Worley, 8th: Even though he attended middle school, Worley advanced to the top spot of the varsity lineup. He managed a 4-9 record and posted a 9-4 mark at No. 2 doubles with William Dulaney as his playing partner.

Kakeru Yoshinaga, Jr.: Played No. 1 singles and doubles for the Black Bears.
2003
Brad Aycock, Jr.: Recorded regular-season record of 8-4 at No. 2 singles. Advanced to semifinals of 6A, Section 6 tournament at No. 2 singles. Also had 7-5 doubles record with seventh grader Kyle Smith.
Carson Lamb, Sr.: Compiled 5-7 record at No. 1 singles. Advanced to semifinals of 6A, Section 6 tournament at No. 1 singles. Went 6-6 in doubles with Michael Skinner. Made All-Area in 2002.

Andy Gonzalez, Sr.: Played No.1 singles and recorded a 7-5 record. Also played No. 1 doubles with Carson Lamb and made the semifinals of the Class 6A, Section 7 tournament. Made All-Area in 2001.
Carson Lamb, Jr.: Played No. 2 singles and went 8-4 which was the best singles record on the team. Also played No. 1 doubles with Andy Gonzalez and made the semifinals of the Class 6A, Section 7 tournament.

Daniel Aycock, Sr.: Posted 6-7 regular season record at No. 1 singles and advanced to semifinals in Class 6A, Section 7 tournament. Also made semifinals in No. 1 doubles with Andy Gonzalez.
Andy Gonzalez, Jr.: Played No. 2 singles and compiled team best 9-4 regular season record. Made Class 6A, Section 7 tournament semifinals in singles and No. 1 doubles.
Joe Hamm, Sr.: Went 8-5 at No.6 singles in first year of varsity tennis. Finished runner-up in singles in Class 6A, Section 7 tournament.

Decatur Daily Player of the Year
Nathan Smith, Sr.: Won the Class 6A, Section 7 championship at No. 1 singles. Recorded a 22-2 record. Reached the semifinals at the 6A state tournament losing to the eventual state champ. Only athlete to make THE DECATUR DAILY All-Area tennis team four years. Advanced to section semifinals at No. 1 doubles with partner Ryan Moll.

Chris Lopez, Sr.: Played No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles. Compiled 8-2 singles record. Made section finals in singles and doubles with partner Nathan Smith.
Josh Miller, Sr.: Played No. 5 singles and recorded 7-4 mark. Made finals in sectional and semifinals in Class 6A state tournament.
Nathan Smith, Jr.: Played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the second straight year. Advanced to section semifinals in singles and finals in doubles with partner Chris Lopez. Made All-Area as a freshman and sophomore.

Nathan Smith, So.: Compiled 8-1 record at No. 1 singles during the regular season and 8-1 mark at No.1 doubles. Made singles semifinals and doubles finals in the 6A, Section 7 tournament. Played doubles with Chris Lopez. Made All-Area in 1997 as a freshman.

Kevin Carter, Sr.: Played No. 1 singles and finished 7-4 with three of the losses coming to Decatur’s Tom Delawrence (Player of the Year). Teamed with Nathan Smith at No. 1 doubles to compile a 12-2 record and reach the sectional finals before losing to eventual state champs Huntsville. Made All-Area in 1996.
Nathan Smith, Fr.: Went 13-4 in singles while playing No. 1 and 2. Complied a 12-2 doubles record with Kevin Carter. Reached sectional finals in singles and doubles before losing to eventual state champs Huntsville.
1996
Kevin Carter, Jr.: Made semifinals of Class 6A Section 6 tournament in No. 1 singles. This was his first year on the Austin team.
1995
Scott Allen, Sr.: Held the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles positions for the Black Bears despite playing on a severely injured ankle.
