Campus Happenings:
Friday, May 29, 2009:
Graduation will be held this evening at
Ogle Stadium at 7:00 P.M., weather permitting. If the weather is
not permitting, the graduation ceremony will be held inside in the DHS
Auditorium. If graduation is held in the auditorium, seating will be
limited to 4 tickets per student. Seniors should be at the stadium no
later than 6:30 P.M. and dressed appropriately for the occasion.
Pictures of each graduate and a DVD will be made available to each graduate for
a fee. The DVD will cost $20.00. Order forms will be distributed at
graduation practice.
Please arrive early to graduation. No one will be seated
during the processional, valedictory address, or the awarding of diplomas.
If you arrive late to the graduation ceremony, you will have to sit on the
visitor's side of the stadium.

Summer School and Credit Recovery Program
Applications for summer school, credit
recovery program, and driver's education are now available in the DHS Guidance
Office.
Summer school will be held at Horizon
High School this summer. Session 1 will be held from June 3-16, 2009.
Session 2 will be held from June 17-30, 2009. Session 3 will be held from July
6-17, 2009. Classes will be held from 7:40 A.M. until 3:50 P.M.,
Monday through Thursday, and from 7:40 A.M. through 12:00 Noon on Friday.
Summer school registration will cost $150.00 for each
semester course payable to Decatur City Schools. Registration and payment
for the first session must be completed by May 15, 2009. Registration
for the second and / or third sessions must be completed by June 10, 2009.

The Credit Recovery Program will be held
at Decatur High School for sessions 1 and 2 and at Austin High School for
session 3. Session 1 will be held June 3-16, 2009. Session 2 will be
held June 17-30, 2009. Session 3 will be held July 6-17, 2009.
Classes will be held Monday through Thursday with no Friday classes.
First semester class work will be completed from 8:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. and
second semester class work will be completed from 12:00 Noon - 3:00 P.M.
Tuition for credit recovery is $100 per semester. Registration for the
first session is due by May 15, 2009. Registration for sessions 2 and 3 of
credit recovery is due by June 10, 2009. Payment may be made by check or
money order payable to Decatur City Schools.

As an IB MYP school, freshmen are required to volunteer at least 5
hours each semester within our community. Please complete the forms for any
community service you complete during the summer. Volunteer opportunities will
be made available starting in August!
