                                      Mission Statement of Decatur City Schools
          The mission statement of Decatur City Schools is to provide an innovative learning community committed to academic excellence and meeting the unique needs of every individual.

                                       Mission Statement of Decatur High School
          The mission of Decatur High School is to educate students for the mastery of academic and social skills for them to succeed as productive, open-minded, and compassionate members of a global society. To this end, a well-trained and caring faculty and staff will provide a challenging and relevant curriculum sufficient to accommodate individuals in a multicultural student body. Decatur High School will actively seek the support of family, business, community, and government to create an environment that encourages lifelong learning and the understanding and acceptance of all cultures.

IB Mission Statement

  • The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
  • To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
  • These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
