MMI: Mobile Math Initiative

6th grade teachers attended a two-week-long training and 7th/8th grade teachers attended a week-long session over the summer to learn more about MMI and how to incorporate this hands-on learning process into the classroom. MMI is a researched-based program that encourages discovery learning and higher thinking of mathematical concepts through the use of cooperative groups, manipulatives, and think-pair-share. Our teachers will continue having monthly math meetings throughout the year to collaborate about what is going on in their classrooms and to get new ideas.
