Robotics
Our robotics classes use Lego Mindstorm for building and Robolab for programming. This permits
mechanical and logical abilities to come together making unmanned robots.
Pull-out classes are offered to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. These classes learn the base design and
programming of robots.
As an elective, there is a year long robotic class that meets every day.
This class is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders that meet the robotic qualifications.
In the fall, selected students from this class compete in the First Lego League (FLL).
For information concerning FLL please visit their website at www.usfirst.org.
In the spring, selected students from the pull-out and yearly class will compete in the
Alabama Council for Technology in Education (ACTE) Regional Computer competition held in Huntsville, AL.
