HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL
Decatur City Schools high school summer school program is a partnership
with Decatur City Schools, Hartselle City Schools, and Morgan County
Schools. Decatur City Schools hosts the first and second
sessions each year in the month of June. The third and fourth
sessions are hosted in July and alternate between Morgan County
Schools and Hartselle City Schools.
Each session allows a student to complete one semester of class
work. Each session lasts ten days and classes are held from
7:45 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Each session equals one semester
and the tuition is $100 per session per student.
Teachers that teach in the high school summer school program hold
a valid Alabama Teaching Certificate and are certified in the subjects
they teach. Subjects taught in summer school include driver
education, math, science, English, and history. Subjects
are offered on a supply and demand basis. All courses are
not offered during summer school. Summer school courses may
be taken as make-up work, remedial work or new work with the approval
of the principal.
