How to create a group mailing address using DCS Web Mail

There are times when you want to send the same message to a group of people. Use the following technique if you wish to save
a list of address to which you routinely send the same message.

Log into DCS Web Mail

Faculty Web Mail

Click on "Addressbook" on the left side of the screen

Click on the "Add Contact" button found in the lower or upper right of the screen.

In the "Adding New Contact" screen:
1) give your group a name;
2) enter a nickname (may be the same as the name or shorter);
3) enter all of the address in the "Email Address 1" box.

Separate each address with a comma. (i.e. Fred@dcs.edu, Susan@dcs.edu, Jim@dcs.edu) Note there is a space after each comma.

Once all the addresses have been enter, click on the "Save Changes "button.

You will then see your entry into the address book

To access your group, click on "Compose Mail" and then click on the "Select" button to the right of the "To:" box.

This will bring up the address book. Select the appropriate address and header (To or CC or BCC) and then click on the "Select" button.

You should then see your addresses in the To box. Compose your message and click on "Send" for your single message to be sent to all those listed.
