Alabama Science Safety Publication

Since the publication of the Alabama Course of Study Science (1995), the Alabama State Board of Education has adopted The Total Science Safety System, Elementary, ALABAMA edition (1998), to help teachers and administrators in the process of "planning, implementing, and evaluating the school science program." This is available in disk form at your school.

Safety Suggestions for Teachers:

• It is good practice to tell students that, in science, materials are NEVER tasted!
• Students may also need to be reminded that certain items, such as toothpicks,forceps, and dropper bottles, are not toys and should be used only as directed.
